can't copy from yahoo mail into word (office 2000)

running xp home: when i try to copy anything from yahoo ( like an email) into
word, it always hangs and won't copy it. on my other computer word, exel and
access won't even open anymore. why is this happening? did i miss an
update for xp or office 2000?

When pasting into Word, try using Edit | Paste Special | Paste as:
Unformatted text.

that didn't work. the hour glass just hangs there forever. i assume you were
telling me to, after opening word and highlighting the text in yahoo i wish
to save, right click and select from the menu. either way, i did not see
Paste Special / Paste as: Unformatted Text i any menu on my computer.
i just tried to paste your reply to me into word and it hung.

Some of you are aware Robert Harris was called home to England last Friday
(Mar 9) as his father suffered a MI after the surgery he had on Wednesday.
Sadly, Robert's father passed away on Sunday evening. Robert arrived in time
to see him. According to Robert, his father was conscious and recognized
him. They were able to be together along with the rest of the family until he
passed over later that evening. As you might imagine, the suddenness of this
has hit the family hard. The funeral was today at noon, London time.

Please keep Robert and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this

all that text that doesn't seem to "fit" with this thread is something i was
trying to copy from yahoo mail into word. i don't know how it got in this
post????? when i copy the email text from this post to word it works fine,
but not from email to word.

Hi Richard,

When you are ready to 'unformatted text choice in Word should be in Edit=>Paste Special, or in the right click menu.

For Word, the default, when copying from web pages is to link back to the original page to get a 'fresh' copy of data from a web
page and then paste. Is Word set to be able to access the internet via your firewall program?
