can't find the .pst file

Help!!

I am running XP PRO and using outlook 2000. When ever I
go into Outlook - and click on a item it locks up on me.
Sometimes it will let me click on more than one item then
locks up. I'm trying to export the *.pst file to a
backup .pst file. I can get to export then click next
and it locks up.

I'm also trying to find out the location of the .pst
file. If I do a search, it finds nothing. I know there
has to be one out there because the outlook client will
come up with all the mail.

My questions are:

Should I be able to do a "search" and find the .pst file?
Any ideas how to find it. Keep in mind that I cannot get
to the outlook client for info - it locks up.

Are there any utilities that can help with a possible
corrupted pst file?

Any ideas would be grately apprieciated

Don't export. With Outlook not running, simply copy the pst file to another
folder. Voila! You have your backup.

Enable hidden files and folders. The PST is in a hidden folder.
