can't open documents it created

I have Office Professional Edition 2003. When Word
creates a document and I save it and then turn around and
try to open it, it says "document not available". If I
open the document with another editor it is all there and
in good condition, but word complains about it not being
available. Any idea what causes this?

Hi! Just saw your message. I am having the same trouble. I have Windows XP and Office Student/Teacher edition. It is frustrating. I thought it just wouldn't open previous versions of Word, but I just tried to open a document sent to me in an e-mail and I got "The file (Name) is not available. Have you gotten any response? Any help? I e-mailed Microsoft but no telling how long the response will take.
