cant open files..?

I have been given a publisher file made on a PC with Publisher2000.
I keep getting "publisher cannot open files from a different version".
But my PC is also running 2000...?

Any help would be great.

You might want to try the Publisher newsgroup. You have stumbled on the
PowerPoint Newsgroup which also starts with "P" <g>
