can't open reports in design mode

I have an Access 2003 mde running on three PCs at a client. On two of
them, the user gets the following error message when printing some
reports:

'Error 3011 The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object
". Make sure object exists, etc etc.'

This started about a week ago. Prior to that all was fine. First one
PC had this problem and then a second one started with the same. The
third PC is ok.

When I try the mdb, these reports will not open in design mode, but
gives no error message. Forms do open but when I enter the code module
it sporadically shuts down with a 'runtime error - abnormal program
termination'.

I develop in A97 and then convert to A2003 to update client. Their PCs
are running A2003 SP3 + hotfix.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I would make sure the PCs have a default printer defined in the Windows
Control Panel.

Default printer was indeed the cause. The PCs did have a default
printer, but it was a network printer. I changed it to a local one and
it fixed the problem.

Thanks for the help.
