can't print separate entries per page after merge

R

rjincali

I merged information from access into publisher for a postcard. But now when
I test print I get the same 4 entries on the same page.
I would like to have 4 different entries on each page instead.
How do I set that up?
Thanks for the help,

I have printed it a number of times and whether I increase or decrease the
copies per page it still only prints the same information however many times
on each page.

I would try doing the mail merge again.

When you do a merge you can only have one card on your screen. If you have all
four postcards on your screen, all four postcards will have the same information
and you will get a separate page for each name. So if you have a hundred names
in your merge you will end up with one hundred pages rather than 100 postcards.

There was only one page on the screen when I did the merge, but afterwards
when I tried to change it to print 2 or 4 cards per page, all had the same
information on them.
Also what is the difference between a print or a mail merge, I've heard both
names thrown around? I used the mail merge.

Do the page setup before anything else. I think your problem is you are changing
your setup after you have committed to the merge.
This maybe helpful

You have to do the Print Merge option for different records to appear on
the same page. If you merge to a new publication, you will get the
problems you described.

This functionality has been improved a lot for 2007 Publisher.
