can't save file - font problem

I have a presentation that I created a year ago. It seems to have an
embedded read only font in it and now I can do anything with it. Any
thoughts on how to work around this. I don't see which font is different
than what I already have on my system.

You have PowerPoint 2003? If this link helps sort your problem, pelase note
the bit bout telling MS what a pain it is:

Hi Glen,
Thanks for the lead. Yes, I do have PPT2003.

I'm the originator of the file, so that won't work (had to redo my system
.... and apparently, didn't reinstall what ever the problem font is). I
don't know what font(s) is posing the problem (it doesn't report the
embedded font in question) and I don't have access (not immediately) to an
earlier version of PowerPoint ... will have to see if I can open on someone
else's pc (and then follow the 3rd suggestion, as discussed on the site you
provided). And yes, I'll give MS a piece of my mind on this one. How
frustrating! It's my file and I can't even change it (can't even do a 'save
as'). bummer.

Well Steve,

I've given MS my 2 cents worth.

I also asked for the ability to "copy animations from one object to another"
and also asked if they could provide for "rename objects in the animation
pane" ... which without ... is a pain!

You know ... it won't even let me copy or cut an image from the opened file.
I found a bit of a workaround. I open two ppt files, side by side then drag
the image over to the other file. That seems to work. (what a
pain!!!!!!!!) arghhhhhh

Choose Format, Replace Fonts. Any font with a very small TT icon next to it
in
the upper of the two list boxes is embedded.
