You will want to try updating your video drivers. Do you know what your
video card is?

Thanks. The answer was...tools-macro-security-trusted publishers-check

You did not say you were getting these images directly from the Internet. You are
opening yourself to a lot of grief.
Security Because macros can contain viruses, be careful about running them. Take the
following precautions: run up-to-date antivirus software on your computer; set your
macro security level to high; clear the Trust all installed add-ins and templates
check box; use digital signatures; maintain a list of trusted publishers.

You are far better off, saving the image in a folder then inserting into Publisher.

Really?! That is *very* odd.
Do you have any add-ins installed?
Where did you get the idea to try that check box?

Checking this check box is the only way to get my add-ins to work - I cannot
afford a code-signing certificate (and I cannot get one from VeriSign
anyway, as I am not a company).

I have pasted Internet pictures into Publisher and never had a problem with them
showing up on the screen. I have a feeling some of the images this fellow is using
are not the typical images I would surf to see.

S

shawnDELSHORES

Desperation made me try it. You see I made this document with the pictures
on another computer using an older version of publisher. I figure it became
a" template" or so maybe the the new computer thought. I am no programmer.
I just tried something in the realm of possibilities. I don't know why it
worked but , glad it did!

S

shawnDELSHORES

No. I made this document with my own pictures on another computer using an
older version of publisher. When I moved the document to the new computer
(using a jump Drive) maybe the new computer thought it was A "Template".
I am no programmer. I just tried this out of desperation. I don't know why
it worked but I'm glad it did. Shawn

Ahhh...yes! That fixed my problem too. I see that the standard answer
from MVP's is video card/drivers.
First time I've seen your answer and it worked!
Thanks,

I tried that and I am still having the same problem. Video drivers are just
fine. Have a brand new computer here. Items were showing before I downloaded
an update...not sure what to tweek now.

Here we go again........... Just because your computer is "brand new" does
not mean you have updated drivers. Computer manufacturers do not monitor
driver updates.

T

Treeshaker

Didn't think I was that stupid, but I guess I am. Not I'm not sure how to
update drivers. Everything worked a couple of days ago until Microsoft
automatically updated something on my machine.

You're not stupid. Most people are unaware of driver updates.

A video driver update isn't part of the updates you get from Microsoft. Go
to the website for your video card's manufacturer. There is almost always a
link for support and drivers. You will need to know which card you have. If
you aren't sure how to find this out, let us know. We can and will help.

Had troubles finding all of that, but got it updated and it seems to be
working. Wonder if the MS update corn-fused the issues.

Actually JoAnn, Windows Update does have "some" video driver updates. They
are drivers that must be MS Genuine Signed drivers. I have received video
driver updates twice through Windows Update. Of course, not all
manufacturers participate.

However, drivers are NOT updated through the AUTO update.

I would *never* recommend using driver updates from Windows Update in its
current form.

I did it once. My computer had to be reformatted. I learned my lesson
good.

See what the driver update is for, then go to the manufacturer of that piece
of hardware's website and install the updates from there.
