can't see scanned object, but prints

I scanned a picture into Microsoft Office Word 2003 image was there, but is
now gone, however when I print it is still there, just not able to see it on
the screen. I would like to have it on the screen to move it to a different
location on the page. Need to know how to make it appear on the screen again.
