cant send powerpoint file directly from powerpoint via outlook

I want to be able to send files from word, powerpoint
directly from that porduct. After hitting 'send to'
outlook started but when i press send it does not. if i
save the file it is saved into my inbox. i can send it
from my inbox.

i am using windows xp with office xp 2002. I have not
always had this problem. please advise

Are you saying that in Word you can send file as attachment but you can't in
Power Point?
