Cant type in Outlook

When I try to type in a new mail message in Outlook
nothing happens I have the blinking cursor but I canot
type anything. I have XP professional when I log out and
log into another account and open outlook It types fine
Any suggestions

What version of Outlook and are you using Word or Outlook as the e-mail
editor. Also what format message are you composing; Plain Text, HTML, Rich
Text?

Do you have any trouble working in Word as well? Does Outlook hang when you
select Outlook as the e-mail editor?
