When I copy a word document to a RW disc, it copies ok. I then edit the
document but when I go to save it I get the error message "The file is read
only. (D:\nameoffile.doc) I go the the original document into properties and
uncheck "read only", it still will not let me edit and change. Thank you.

It is doing that because it's supposed to. Copy the file to your hard disk
and change the attributes.

Thanks for your prompt relpy. Do you mean I copy it to the disc, then copy it
back to the hard drive for any editing or corrections?

Yes, "hard disk" is the proper term for what you call the "hard drive".
