Change defalut view of all Outlook folders of a given type

I reguently create and delete mail and contact folders: for instance do
consulting work with a new company I will add a mail folder for that company.
I have a custom view called "Flat" that I want all my mail folders to have.
This view does appear in the list of available views for the new folder, but
the new folder starts out in messages view, and I have to change it every
time. While not a big problem in the grand scheme of things, it is a bit
irritating.

Does anyone know of a way to either (a) make new folders inherit the current
view of the containing folder, or (b) modify the global default view for all
mail folders or all contact folders.

It would help if you posted your version of Outlook. ;)

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
