Change numbering in TOC?

A report has a page number set as "B-" in the footer followed by the page
no. field. When Word builds the Table of Contents, can you get Word to pick
up the "B-"? Does that require changing how Word inserts the page numbers?

(Didn't know which forum would be best for this, so it's here. If it would
be better elsewhere, please advise.)
