Change Working Days without effecting Tasks dates

I have a project already built but it was built with Sat and Sun off. Now I
want to make Sat and Sun working days but NOT have it effect any of the
current start and end dates already entered. How do I do this?

Hi koolkat ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

This sounds most odd! Why change the calendar if you don't want the dates
to change? If you're wanting to enter new tasks then create a new calendar
with Sat & Sun working, and assign the tasks to use that calendar. Note
that this is not suitable for human resources as I presume they would like
their week ends free. Also, I get the impression that you have entered the
dates? If so, you are really affecting the flexibility of Project, as
entering dates will cause constraints. Try entering Tasks, Durations,
Precedences and Resources and then let Project do what it was designed for -
to give you a schedule of what is possible with the data you've entered.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

in our situation we ARE working over weekends. These are offshore
operations. So now when I enter a date like Sunday, it asks to make it a
working day, I say yes and it effects everything else in the project.
For what I'm doing I need start and end dates locked in. I have other
projects that use your suggestions but I can't for this one.
