Hi,
Is there any one out there with a solution? I have a word document and
every time this document is amended I want to save it as a new version
of the document - not word version control - my own control - without
user intervention as people might give an incorrect answer. Don't
misunderstand about the amending aspect. What I am trying to say is 2
people have access to the same folder. The one is the boss and the
other the typist. The boss creates a document and wants to give this
doc to his secretary for amendments but the boss doesn't want his
secretary to save over his version so when she opens it it must create
a new version but what if she only wants to print it? Cannot set
network rights as I would be setting rights all day long. My problem is
as follows: I cannot use the file open option as they may want to open
the file for printing only, unless I ask do you want to amend or print
the document? I cannot use the on save command as every time they save
inbetween whilst making changes it cannot save as a new version. I
cannot use the file, close command as by that time they have saved over
the existing version by using Ctrl+S. Any ideas please ...
