Changing color in Picture it does not change object color

I am using Microsoft Picture It! Publishing Platinum (Version 6.0.907.0).
When I try to use the change color feature, I can move the balls and use the
dropper to move the balls for changing the color, but the object color does
not change. It worked once, but subsequent tries it hasn't.

Did you click the "Whole Picture" tab?

If you wish to adjust the color of a specific
object, it may be best if you do a cutout and
use the "Leave it in the original project" option.
Then you can select the cutout layer and change
the color of it without affecting the remainder
of the project.
