Changing Embedded Word Documents in PowerPoint

I have a PowerPoint document that I created last year.
The presentation contains a Word table. I am trying to
make a few changes to the table so I right clicked, opened
the table and made my changes. When I closed the word
document and returned to the PowerPoint, it is not showing
my changes. Do you know what is wrong?
