Changing login name to be different from the resource name.

Matt Snare

Our Project Server resources have been uploaded showing
people's full names, but we cannot have people logging
into the Web Access using this name as it does not match
our corporate standard.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible for users to login to
Web Access and view their tasks, etc. using a
username "alias" rather than their full name (using
Project Server authentication)? We would like to keep
the resource names as people's full names so that they
appear this way in project plans.

Matt:

Using Project Server authentication, the resource name is the logon name.
You have to decide whether it's better to logon this way or to know all
resources by their corporate standard logon name. I assume that users are
not logging onto Windows networking otherwise you'd be using Windows
authentication and have things the way you want.
