changing outgoing address

Hi, another question: can I somehow configure Entourage to use my
domain name address in the account set up to retrieve email from
gmail? I can't keep a separate domain account in Entourage because it
seems that Entourage automatically checks for email from all accounts
(not just the default account), so I'd be downloading my email twice,
once from my domain and once from gmail (not to mention all the spam
my domain doesn't filter out). I've set up gmail to use my domain
address when I send email from gmail, but I can't seem to do the same
thing if I send email from Entourage.

1. From the Entourage menu bar, select Tools > Accounts.
2. Highlight the account in question.
3. Click Edit.
4. Click Options.
4. Under "Addition Headers", add:
Header: From
Value: your preferred email address
5. Click OK.

You say you can't keep a separate domain account in Entourage, but you can.
One of the options in the account setup at the top, just under the name of
the account, is "Include this account in Send & Receive All". UNCHECK that
option, and Entourage will no longer automatically download mail for this
account. That way, you can use it to send mail using a gmail address, or
your domain address, or whatever you want, and receive it wherever you wish:
On gmail, or forwarded to some other address that you receive with
Entourage.
