Changing Project Start and Finish Dates

I downloaded a template from the Microsoft Projects library. Once I opened
the file I wanted to change the start and finish dates, but can not do this.
Any suggestions?

Project/Project Information. Change the start date.
You can also use the Adjust Dates utility available from the analysis toolbar.

You don't say how you tried to change them. Did you go to Project,
Project Information and try there, or some other way?
