Changing TIME start & Duration

C

CXX

Ex: Below task is to start:
10/2/09 7:50 p.m. and will take 5 mins but for whatever reason (stupid
question most likely!) it keeps going back to 8:00 AM start and 8:05 AM
finished.

What it is now (that won't change)
10/2/09 8:00 AM start and 10/2/09 8:05 AM finish

It should be:
10/2/09 7:50 PM start and 10/2/09 7:55 PM finish

I have approximately 10 tasks that have been pasted into this project plan
that need to change and I can't get them too change with correct time.

Hope you have good reasons for scheduling to the minute. Needless to say,
that's usually frowned upon, although in some cases required.

That being said, sounds like you're running afoul of the project or task
calendar. The default calendar allows work from 8 AM - 12 PM, and 1 PM -
5 PM. You'll either need to create a new calendar with the right time frame
- or consider applying the 24 hour calendar to your project.

Project > Project Information > Calendar > 24 hour calendar

Note that if you have other tasks on the project, they will revert to the
24 hour calendar as well. If you want some tasks on the 24 hour, and some
on the standard, then you'll have to apply a task calendar:

Insert column > Task Calendar, and then set it to the 24 hour calendar for
your 10 tasks or so.

I have an idea to resolve this issue. If you create a fictitious
resource which is available from 7:50pm onwards everyday and assign it
to the tasks under discussion, then resource leveling will resolve the
issue. An efficient resource leveling mechanism can offer great
flexibility in scheduling.

Need to look in a couple of places for a calendar.
Tools/Change Wiorking time. Verify that time you want is set to be a
working time.
On the resource calendars, double click the resource you have assigned to
the task and pull their calendar pages... verify the time you desire in
within their work hours.

So, check two places. You can create another new calendar with the
appropriate work hours and assign the calendar to the one task in question
