Check Boxes

Can a check box be assigned a value? Like 1 if one box is
checked and 2 if the other box is check. If so, how would
I? I'm trying to get a excel workbook ready to import to
access. I have yes and no check boxes that I would like to
assign the value to so I can import the workbook.
