Checking serial numbers

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me. I need to rebuild a few
PCS. I am therefore going to reinstall office on these
machines, but I have one problem, I dont know which
licence applies for each version of office. I understand
the activation process will not let you activate a copy of
office if it has already been activated with windows. Is
this correct?

I would be very gratefull if anyone could help me.
