Clean Up Tasks Parameters

I have used the Clean Up of tasks functionality successfully but for the
first time I am questioning the parameters and what they 'really' mean and
can't seem to find any definitions.

What field is used to define the "older than" or "sent between" dates?

I would somehow like to view what is going to be removed prior to removing
the tasks.

I read over the Admin Guide and it is not clear, however, by power of
reasoning, I would guess data last modified for that project as to when the
assignment/task was published. Waiting to hear if someone has the final
answer.
