Clicking shortcut to imap inbox locks up outlook 2002

Clicking shortcut to imap inbox locks up outlook 2002. If I use the folder
menu and open the Inbox folder it prompts for a password and opens up with no
problem. If I use the shortcut in Outlooks shortcut bar outlook locks up
after the password is put in. Anyone know why this might happen or how to
fix it?
