Clip art does not appear when inserted

I'm using Office 2003 on Windows XP. When I insert a clip, it does not
appear in the document. A box appears where the clip has been inserted, but
the acutal picture cannot be seen. When I scroll up & down with the roller
ball of my mouse, I can see the image, but if I stop scrolling it does not
appear. Please help me be able to use clips again - thanks!

Make sure that "Picture placeholders" is not checked on the View tab of
Tools | Options.

Thank you so much! That did the trick. I have one other, similar problem.
When I search for clips in the window that appears on the right when I click
Insert-Picture-Clip Art... the clips do not appear, only a "play button" type
icon appears with a filename ("dglxasset..."). I have to right click &
select "Preview/Properties" in order to see what the click is going to look
like. (Or, insert it into my document & then keep or delete based on whether
it is what I'm looking for.) Also, if I have added the clip to my own
folders, then it does appear in the menu. All other clips appear as I have
described. Is there any way to get a preview of all clips when the Clip Art
window appears? Thank you!

You need to clear the TIF (Temporary Internet Files) cache. To do this, go
to Control Panel | Internet Options. On the General tab, click the button
for Delete Files... and answer OK.
