It depends on how you deleted it and when.
If you defined some text and did a control-x, the deleted
text is moved into the clipboard. You can recover it by
immediately typing control-v (paste) or control-z (undo).
If you defined some text and deleted it by pressing any key
other than control-x, the text is not moved into the
keyboard. You can still recover it *immediately* by typing
control-z (undo).
If you deleted some text using the "Del" or "â†" (back arrow)
key, the text is not moved into the keyboard. You can still
recover it *immediately* by typing control-z (undo).
If you type anything after making a deletion you can't
recover the deleted text boy typing control-z (undo).
If you delete something with control-x and then delete
something else with control-x, the first deletion is no
longer in the clipboard but you may still be able to recover
by undoing twice.
