I'm using the Custom Maintenance Wizard from Office 2003 Resource Kit to
modify the default "Save As" settings for Excel, Powerpoint & Word. I've
discovered that when I select from the Change Office User Settings
page....Microsoft Office Word 2003 - Tools|Options - Save - Save Word files
as, it won't let me select Word Document (*.doc). If I select this and
select Apply Changes, it shows as configured, but the moment I move to the
next screen or finish the wizard, the setting disappears. This doesn't
happen when I choose other formats. If I select another format (like RTF or
Word 97-2002), then the setting remains and I can apply it. This also
doesn't happen when I do this for Excel or Powerpoint. Only when choosing
Word Document format. Has anybody seen this problem before? I've been all
over the knowledge base and I can't find any reference to this.
