Column for % Complete As Scheduled

Is there a column that calculates/captures the % Complete value of a task if
it were "Updated As Scheduled". I know about the "Update as Scheduled"
status feature on the Tracking toolbar, but thought if this value was
captured in a column then it would be very useful in comparing actual %
Complete with the % Complete if the task were on schedule (a third column
could be used to calculate the difference in values). I thought this would
be useful to point out activities in which the planned finish date is
unrealistic given how far behind the progress is against the activity. Does
this seem like a good measurement?

I believe that what you are looking for is Earned Value information. Take a
look at Help for guidance.
