Column width mac v windows

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC

I did a spreadsheet in Mac excel '08 and saved and mailed it to my client. This client is PC based. TH only problem that we are experiencing is that some columns are showing narrower and cutting the word(hyphenated) in half where on my screen it is not. WHat can I do to fix this,, please any help asap would be helpful otherwise I will loose this client.

1) Make sure you are using a font that is also available in Windows.
2) Make sure both you and your client have the proper (and latest) versions
of print drivers.
3) Don't format your column widths (and page attributes) with so little
tolerance.
4) Test the appearance in Windows before sending the file to your client.
