When I open certain documents, Word immediately and
automatically asks whether I want to merge the particular
document with an earlier version kept in a different
subdirectory. This feature obstructs Delta View so I
cannot compare the document to a different one using
Delta View unless I first answer and save the "Do you
want to merge" question in Word. I am in the process of
updating about 100 standard documents for use by many
people in our business. As changes are made to the
standard documents, they are saved as "read only" as a
protective measure making it obstructive and time
consuming to respond to the automatic dialogue box , go
to Explorer, unclick read only, save the "No and don't
ask me again" response, go back to Explorer, and
reclick "read only" - just to use Delta View. I would
instead prefer to turn off whatever optional feature I
have checked in Word that causes this dialogue to pop up
on my computer. It does not pop up on others' computers
making me think it is an option in Word that I have
chosen that I need to uncheck. Can you help me solve this
problem? Thanks.
