configure text box

Marilyn Small

I recently upgraded to Publisher 2003. I can't find how to configure text boxes to overlap each other and keep the text in the same position. In my old version, there was a "check" box in the format text box to allow for this. I've tried different wrapping options in 2003, but can't figure it out.

You never have been able to do this in any version of Publisher.
You are dreaming about a Text Box - never existed.
You either have to place one Text Frame on the Background (Ctrl+M) or
convert one to a graphic.

text box problems

It was Publisher 2000. I really can't remember the exact words, but when I clicked on
Format Text Box there was a box at the bottom to check off for wrapping. Now, when I overlap text boxes, the text moves around the placement of the other text box (I'm having difficulty describing this) and that check off box isn't there any more

wrap around pictures

Can't get the text to wrap around pictures, either, even though I choose the "through" or "none" in the wrapping tab.

The wrapping around pictures is somewhat of a quandary, sometimes it works, other
times not. I have found if you select the picture, click the dog icon, edit wrap
points, it will wrap, if you select again, click the dog again, choose tight, click
yes, the text will wrap even closer.

The "None" option is specifically to say that the text should *not* wrap
around the picture, but go straight through it as if the picture was not
there.
The "Through" option means that the text wraps around the edges, but also
goes into spaces inside the picture.
These are the worst two options to choose if you want the text to wrap
around the picture.

still can't overlap text boxes

OK. Thanks for your help I can get the text to wrap around the picture, but still can't overlap text boxes without the text in one of the boxes moving as in my original question on this message board. Where is that little check box as in Publisher 2000? PS What's up with all the wierd postings -- re my lesbian girlfriend, sister caught with kid next store??

CAN YOU NOT UNDERSTAND BASIC ENGLISH?

I have told you previously you cannot overlap text frames and there is no No
NO check box to so such a thing in any version of Publisher.

Of course you idiotic failed moronica. If dummies like you could read and
comprehend you would see where I said and how it can be done.

Get them to send you to Iraq and join the rest awaiting obliteration.

How come they do not have a system for putting dummies like you down at
birth and saving the world.

You stated twice in this thread that it can't be done, and it can...and it
does NOT require converting to graphic or putting one in the background. I
simply made the two text frames, made the formatting changes, and overlapped
them. But you reacted just as I expected. You have been extra cranky these
days David...maybe its time for a walk about. DavidF
