Conflict with spellchecker?

I have Microsoft XP on my system and currently use Stedman's Medical/Drug Spellchecker through Word as I own a medical transcription service. This works fine without any glitches until I install Microsoft Publisher. As a matter of fact, I installed the new MS Publisher 2003 and I still have a conflict. Publisher works fine but when I open Word, transcribe a medical document, and attempt to spellcheck (Stedman's is the default), its as if I do not have a spellchecker. It will not recognize one medical term whatsoever. I am so frustrated right now since I have to add all these medical terms to the current spellchecker if I want to keep Publisher, which I do. Has anyone encountered this problem?
