Contact Display

We recently converted from Outlook 2000 to 2002. In 2002
there is a field DISPLAY AS, it is now showing the contact
name as well as the email address. I only want to show
that contact name. How can I change my contacts to
display this way without doing so one by one.

This "Contact Displayed Name" field you're asking about has always been in
Outlook, for example look in Outlook 97 & you'll see it there too.

An Outlook Contact Email address consists of two parts: the "Display name",
and the "E-mail address".

The "Display name" can be anything. Some people like to make it the person's
full name. Some people like to make it the email address.

The "E-mail address" must be the SMTP email address.

Should you set your "Display name" to be the person's full name, or the
email address? Depends. If you like to use the Field Chooser to see the
email address, then you must make the "Display name" be the email address.
If you like to see the person's full name in the TO: box when you send email
to a Category set of Contacts, then you must make the "Display name" be the
full name.

Actually, if you want to use the Field Chooser to see the email address, you
can do so by simply adding the "Email" field to the view. You do not need to
change the Display As field.

The answer to the OP is that you must change each Display As field
individually.
