Content disappears from slides when transferred between laptops

We have been having an issue when transferring Powerpoint presentations
between laptops. It displays fine on some laptops then on others (identical
hardware and software) the slide is present but the content has disappeared.
Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks!

What kind of content? If it's linked content, did you copy that over to the
other presentation?

If it's not linked content, I'll assume you're using PPT 2003. In that case,
you need to install the latest service pack. Go to Help|Check for Updates to
do so.

I don't believe it is linked content. We will try downloading the update.
