Converting Access 97 to 2000 not efficient ?

Hi,

Since i've read all the previous post about compacting Database with
Jet and Adox...
I understood how to convert a Access 97 database (called Bdd97) to
Access 2000 database (called Bdd2000).

The problem I have is when I try to open my new Access bdd 2000
converted (Bdd2000) in Access 2000, i have the usual message :

You've selected a database that have been created in an old Access
version. What do you want to do :
- Convert a database
- Validate a database

Why I have this message if my my new Bdd2000 has been correctly
converted (no error message) ?

(I verifyed that the new Bdd2000 created can not be opened by Access 97
so the format has really been changed)

Using Jet or ADOX you have converted the storage format
from A97 (jet 3.5) to A2000 (jet 4.0).

Inside your jet 4.0 file, you have an Access project. It is
stored in a couple of custom tables and properties.

If you open your jet 4.0 file in Access 2000, it will notice
that there is no Access 2000 project stored in your file,
and it will offer to 'convert or enable'. It would offer this
even if there was no project stored in your file at all, and
if there was no project at all, it would create a new one.

But you have an Access 97 project stored in that file,
so Access 2000 will open up those custom tables and
properties, update the contents, and create new custom
tables and properties for an Access 2000 project.

Access 2002 and Access 2003 use the same file format
(jet 4.0) as Access 2000, but a different project format
inside the file. So Access 2002 or 2003 will offer again
to update the project, even though there is not change to
the file format at all.
