Converting HTML to PUB

Can an .html file be converted to .pub and then used in a mail merge? I'm
using Publisher 2007 and, although it appears as though you can open an
..html file, I can't see the contents of that file in Publisher. Would
someone please tell me the steps to open and, more importantly, see the
contents of my .html file. Also, assuming I'll be able to save it as .pub,
will the formatting be OK, or does Publisher modify the formatting in any
way? Thanks in advance!

Gregg.

Pub 2007 can open a .htm or .html file as you found, but unless the file was
built with Publisher it will not import correctly. Publisher is not a web
editor and uses a proprietary html coding engine, that varies with the
version. Even opening a .html file produced with Pub 2000 in Pub 2007 will
not work correctly. Assuming that you are opening a .html file produced with
another program, you would be better off just building a new publication.
