Copy baseline from another project

Can I make one project a baseline to another project file? I want to use one
project as another projects baseline and can not figure out how. I know how
to clear and set the current project as a baseline but not how to bring
another project in to make it a baseline. HELP please!

BillieG,
On the surface, this doesn't make to much sense - at least with regard
to the definition of "baseline" in Project. Perhaps what you really want
to do is to create a template of your project that can then be used as a
basis ("baseline") for future similar projects. To create a template, go
to File/Save As and select "Template" as the "Save as type".

As John points out there's a fundamental flaw in this approach. A
"baseline" is a record of the project plan as you originally intend to do
it, ie "I plan for Jim to wax the widgets starting 22 Sept and he should be
done by the end of the day 24 Sept." It's a static record of the plan as
originally conceived, used for comparison purposes when tracking progress.
Another project's baseline may be similar in terms of workflow but it's
unlikely that the details of the start and end dates, man-hours of work
required, resource costs, fixed costs, etc will all be identical in all
those of the current project at hand. Perhaps what you really mean is you
want to use another project as a model for the current project's plan?
