Copy / Paste without changing column width

Is there a way to copy certain information from one
spreadsheet to a new spreadsheet and have it copy exactly
like it is in the original spreadsheet? When I copy paste
into the new spreadsheet I have to adjust all the columns
and fonts to make it look like the original. Why can't I
get it to just paste the exact way the original one looks.

Celeste,

The column width is the property of the column, not the cells of the column,
so to paste the column width you need to copy and paste the entire column.

If you don't want to paste the entire column, then you need to copy the
entire column, select the entire column at the destination, and select
Pastespecial... "Column widths"
