Copy Textbox to another presentation changes format

I copy a textbox with black border and black text from one
presentation to another. In the new presentation the
textbox appears red.

How can I copy a textbox (or arrow or...) and take the
format into the new presentation?

Always state the version you are using.

Guessing you are using version 97, you can't that I know of. The textbox
fill, line, and font colors can be dictated by the destination's color
scheme. You may have to change them back manually (maybe using the Format
Painter). Another way is to paste special as a metafile and then ungroup it.
That will produce the textbox as it was but the textbox and the colored
shape (if line or fill color was used) will be a separate element. Use the
Format Painter to copy the formatting of the colored shape to the textbox.
Then delete the shape.

Version 2002 offers a feature whereby you can keep the source formatting
when copying such textboxes. That and many other reasons are good motivation
to upgrade.
