copying a table from excel to word causes word to crash

Any experience this problem?

I have tried without success to identify the problem, reloading word and all
patches does not solve the issue.

The instant ones hits the paste button word performs and illegal action and
closes.

If you start WINDOWS in Safe Mode, does the problem persist?

Which version of Word and of Windows are we dealing with?
