In the past, I have had experience with emails in
accounts that create problems with Outlook's funtioning.
We have Exchange Server 2000, mail is kept on the
server. One individual on occasion receives email that
will freeze her system. Yesterday, I had another user
that began having the same symptoms. I have repaired,
unloaded, and reinstalled with no improvements.
If it is, in fact, a message on the server that is causing the problem, no
amount of work on the client side will fix it. You must remove the message
from the server first. While I've heard of messages retrieved via the POP
protocol causing problems, I've not heard of messages causing problems when
the Exchange protocol is used. However, you can find out by using OWA, if
you have it installed, to examine the message store and see what's in it,
move any offending messages from the Inbox to another folder, and see if
that helps the Outlook client.
