There was another report where web core was the source, but they did not get
back to let me know if my suggestions worked. Since you seem to have a
message that can be tested, I would try this first:

1) drag the message to Shared folder so it can be used in a new User's
account for testing.

2) Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching.

3) Open Entourage (no need to enter account info) and drag the message from
Shared to Entourage. Does the problem exist in the new User. If yes, then
it's your base files....either Office or the OS. If no, then we need to
check out your User's folder for the problem. Troubleshooting Your User
Account for a Problem
<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/troubleshoot/test_user.html>

This is what I suggested.

I'm not sure what this does, so I did a google search. The reports I saw
mostly involving Safari, it appears if you do a reinstall of the software,
it might fix the problem.

I would first download and run the Apple combo. Running the combo updater
overwrites potentially problem-causing files. Combo updaters will install on
the same version as they¹re applying‹no need to roll back or do a clean
install.

Leopard:

Mac OS X 10.5.6 Combo Update
(For both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs )
pdate.html>

This might fix the problem with WebCore, but if not your next step is to
re-install Office.

Let me know what you find.

Well i ran the 10.5.6 update combo and no luck, then i uninstalled safari 4 and it all seemed to work, seems like the safari beta is breaking something.

Thanks for the feedback. Safari definitely uses webcore. For me the Safari
beta caused so many problems I uninstalled immediately. Another user on the
newsgroup reported removing it fixed their connection issues with Entourage.
It's definitely bad voodoo for some of us while others are merrily working
without problems.

I'm also wondering if this might have caused issue when installing the ews beta for entourage 2008, I didn't have any luck when safari 4 beta was on and i don't want to go through the hassle on uninstalling backoffice and reinstalling if it doesn't work again.

We're on exchange server 2007 roll up 6 but this could be another issue, something about the auto discover service not being found in the entourage debug log...

OK, installed the beta but got the following error, same as last time when i installed so safari beta wasn't an issue here.

You should be reporting this on Connect. There should have been a link given
to report problems for the beta. You'll get the official support there.

Thanks Diane,

I already have done that about 5 days ago but haven't received a response as yet so i'll just have to sit and wait until then.

Sorry about that. Most of the MVPs aren't on the beta because we don't have
Exchange account. It's hard to help when we aren't part of the process. We
learn from using the product.
