Crash while scrolling a project

Hello,

I have a single project that will crash MS Project whenever I try to scroll
it.
A colleague of mine has a sub-solution by that he can continue work on it.
He expands all tasks and then it is possible to scroll for him.

That does not work for me.

Has anyone ever heard of such a problem?

Hi Chris,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

This shouldn't happen :( I suspect a corrupt file: you could try the
suggestions in FAQ Item: 43. File Bloat? - Might be Corruption.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address:http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Hi Mike,

this did not solve the problem.
Do be detailed all actions described there crashed the project.

We could limit the problem to 1 view.
All actions with this view result in a crash of the .mpp file.
We can not delete it or overwrite it. We can not change it and we can not
scroll in it.
We can't even save the file while we use another view (no other view actions
results in a crash).

Would you have any further advices?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Chris,

We need to discover whether your project is at fault, whether it is Project
at fault, or whether it's your PC. Does the symptom occur with other
projects on this PC? Does it occur with this project on other PCs? Does it
occur with other projects on other PCs?

Hi Mike,

the problem occurs with this project file on any other PC.
No other projects on my PC have this problem and afaik no other PC has this
problem with any other project.

So, Chris, it is this one project which doesn't work. Does your backup copy
display the same faults (you do have one, don't you)? You'll have to cut
your losses, I suggest, by creating a new project and copying all the data
from one to the other - view the Export Table and select all data and then
copy/past.
