Create a .pdf file from MS Publisher

J

John

Using Microsoft Publisher 2002 (10-2621-4291) SP-2
I made several parts of a Stationery Suite for a friend
running a new/small business, but he doesn't have
MS Publisher 2002 installed on his computer.

"No problem" I thought, as I have Adobe 6 on my
machine, so I could just convert the files into
..PDF files, but apparently I cannot.

Will someone be kind enough to advise please?

In advance, thank you.

John

should work like Don sugested, but then you must have the Pdf printer
installed on your computer.
You did not tell us you'l have it.
But if not: Go to Priom.com and download the writer. Or....use the Adobe
printer writer.

The original post implied that the user has Adobe Acrobat 6. The Adobe PDF
printer is an integral part of this.

Priom.com takes me to a page that requires a login.

The Adobe PDFWriter is NOT recommended, and has a nasty habit of producing
sub-standard results (which is why it has been removed from the default
installation of recent versions of Acrobat).

John, if you don't have Adobe Acrobat (the full version - not the free
Reader), then you can use one of the free alternatives.

Hope this helps!

I have Adobe 6, when I convert the Publisher file I select Adobe PDF in the print
dialog. It works every time.

Sorry for caps but this is bugging me!! ADOBE IS A COMPANY NOT AN
APPLICATION!! If you mean Acrobat, for Hades sake, say so!

You don't refer to Microsoft 2003 if you mean Publisher, now do you...?

I think people look at Adobe as an application these days and assume it as
Acrobat/Reader. Similar to if someone here in the U.S. asks for a Kleenex,
but they give you a Puffs Plus or any snot rag....or if they say they need
to make a Xerox of something, when they just mean a copy.

Sure did. That is a good tidbit to know. I will always remember that now. I
am a huge marketing person (lots of marketing classes in college), so I am
intrigued by things like that.

I think it's an excellent example of what can happen to *any* product - if
it's allowed to happen. Companies need to make sure there is
brand-recognition without losing what makes them special. I know I didn't
phrase that well but I'm not the marketing type, I'm the consumer type. ;-)

Meds are fun. I've just finished cleaning out the refrigerator and the
cupboards thanks to mine. :)
