Creating a generic timeline for a project

I have a project for which I do not want to specify an actual start date.
The measurements I need to use are Fiscal Years and Quarters. I have tried
to find a way to make Microsoft Project not work with a specific start date,
but have been unsuccessful. Please advise.

Project does not have that capability. You can make the timeline
relative units, rather than dates, but they will always start on some
specific date.

Hope this helps in your world.

Hi ghpape ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

You can choose week1 or whatever via Tools/Options/View tab: Date Format,
but as Dave said you must have a start date. However, it is easy to apply
the real start date using the Adjust Dates macro on the Analysis Toolbar.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
