Custom Dictionary

My custom dictionary seems to have disappeared. I have checked to see if
everything is checked under Tools/Options/Spelling and Grammar and I find
that, in Word, this area is blank. How do I know if I still have a custom
dictionary or if I need to re-install it? If I have to re-install, how do I
do so?

Search in Windows Explorer for Custom.dic, which is the name of the default
custom dictionary.
