Custom Filter or Formula?

Hi,

I was just browsing over the internet when I came across your site.

I want to design an "Assign Resources" dialog box
effectively that could pick resources available for a
task. My guess is you might need to use a custom
filter and a formula to generate that.

I tried so far these lines in Custom Filter but they don't work exactly
the way I want:

"Type" equals "Work"
And "Available To" equals "Finish"

Could you please help me out? thanks.

Yikes Jim! Not quite..it works like 50% i guess..what happens is that..i
checked "available to work" ..8 hours..and then...i saw some good
results..however, if task A has 8 out of 16 hours remaining for next day, it
allows a user who has task B assigned on the the 1st day to be available for
8 hours the next day..i want the user to be available rather for 16
hours..therefore, it should not show him available for that resource...any
ways to tackle that?

Hi Jim,

sorry for so many emails. I think its working perfectly fine because if you
add another day to a task, then it makes that resource available, else it
wouldn't as he's pre-occupied for 1 day with another task.. Once again, I
thank you for everything! You were of great help!!
