Custom Installation the 2nd time - change the install status icon?

H

hatman

I have Office 2000 Pro installed on my computer, but it was custom installed
WITHOUT Access 2000. Now I want to install it, so I do a change/custom
install. When the installation tree shows, I change the access 2000 icon to
"install on my computer". Do I do anything at all with any of the other
icons for the other apps? Will they install again if they show as "install
on my computer"? Thanks

Hi Hatman,

If you're trying to use the Office Custom Installation Wizard to change the
state of an already deployed Office suite, you won't be able to. You'd need to
use the Custom Maintenance Wizard instead (http://microsoft.com/office/ork/2000)

If you're just using Add/Remove Programs to manually add Access to a 'run from
my computer' status, then Office will repair any problems it finds, but only
installs the changes to the previous installation.

You will need the product CD (or access to the Office Admin Point if it was
installed from a server) to add Access.
